The founder of Mickai

Mickarle Wagstaff-Irons - Micky Irons, full name Mickarle Sean Junior Wagstaff-Irons, is the founder of Mickai, a British company (Companies House 17166618) building what it calls a Sovereign Intelligence Operating System. The product is designed to run offline on hardware the customer owns, to give an organisation its own assistant across its everyday software rather than a single model to integrate, and to seal every action it takes in an audit record that can be verified offline against a key the customer holds. He is Mickai's Founder and CEO; Abbie Youdale is Managing Director.

The economics argument

His position, as it applies to what this journal covers, is a straightforward one about access and cost. Learning and tools should not be decided purely by whether someone can afford the fee attached to them, and he has pushed that into Trust Agent, Mickai's free-course site, directly. But he is also clear that "free" is not the same as "without cost": a genuine comparison has to count what happens on both sides, not just the number on the invoice. Much of Mickai's work is staked on the audit approach. The company has filed 104 UK patent applications, 2,340 formal claims in total, none granted yet, concentrated on the idea of sealing each AI action under a signature that can be verified offline. It is a claim about accountability, not secrecy: the point is to make what an AI did provable to a third party. Independently checked against the UK Intellectual Property Office's own records: all 105 filed applications (104 unique inventions, one duplicate filing), none has progressed past "Filed" to publication or grant.
